P.V. Bound
The alarm went off this morning and it took about two seconds for the "Oh, I'm going to Puerto Vallarta" thought to kick in.
Fishing, like life, is filled with firsts, and this is the first time I've put my biggest reel, a Penn 70 VSX with 200-pound Jerry Brown to 200-pound Izorline, in my bag on the heels of a fish that taped out over 400 pounds being caught. The cow parade has been pretty impressive the last month nonetheless.
A picture and what details were available at the time is on yesterday's blog. There's already some internet buzz that two anglers handled the rod, that the head got loped off to fit it in the fish hold, it's not that big, yada, yada. Either way, it's a very impressive fish for the yacht
Tenacious
. After all, it taped out 4.5 inches longer and an inch girthier than Mike Livingston's 405. The fish will not be submitted to the IGFA; we'll have all the info in next week's
WON
. (Scroll back to yesterdays' blog to check out a pic sent over by Eric Huff at Eric's Tackle in Ventura.)
In the meantime, enjoy this epic stretch of weather that's on the forecast. I hope to hear something bit around here when I get back.
