| The Channel Islands Shootout is filling up fast, to the point where the Sea Jay has been added to the mix, bring the total for the sportboat division to five boats.
The event has grown to being the biggest saltwater event in Ventura County, and now that Mercury is sponsoring what is now the Mercury/WON Channel Islands Shootout, the prize package has been bumped up thanks to a 150 H.P. Mercury engine being the grand raffle prize.
Pre-trip giveaways from the event's sponsors make the trip a winner on its own for the $80 ticket price for a full-day trip (which is usually around $100). New this year is a private boater division, with side pots and a shot at big bucks for the biggest fish and the totally random shot at raffling up the engine.
