| Yesterday's blog had Joey Helgren of the Oceanside landing that bears his last name saying that one the landing's boats saw dorado in the shallow water off Box Canyon (that's between Oceanside and Dana Point, roughly the same zone that hosted the Checkpoint seabass bites this spring and summer.)
Anyone who thought "yeah, right" should take a look at this small-grade dorado that Jay Goldstein caught on the Dana Pride out of Dana Wharf Sportfishing on today's 3/4-day trip. Look at the top right. Yes, that's the top Dome at San Onofre. Dorado, 50 feet of water on the kelp line... yes, things have gone tropical.
