Day 2 results

CA Open Day 1
Ready to defend his 2016 California Open champion title, Wayne Breazeale of Kelseyville, Calif. and his AAA partner James Bunker of Martinez, Calif came to the scales with an extraordinary five-fish limit of 30.70, anchored by Breazeale’s 10.83 pro Big Bass of the day.

WAYNE BREAZEALE, THE reigning California Open champ, takes the lead on Day 1 with 30.70.

Trailing by nearly seven-pounds is another California team – Danny Miller from Orangevale and AAA Kevin Graney of Jamul. Miller and Graney weighed a total of 23.77 and the biggest bass on the AAA side with Graney’s 10.33.

Breazeale and Graney’s double-digits were the only ones brought up on Day 1.

A general consensus was that the bites were plentiful, but the bass were small and morning hours were the better time for quantity and quality.

After a 10-degree temperature drop today from official practice days and another 10-degree dip forecasted for tomorrow, with cloud cover moving in, anglers can expect changes in the fishing. Many will welcome that change and hope Day 2 will be their moving day.

Stay tuned to find out where your favorite fisherman lands.

Weigh-in begins at 2 p.m. at Konocti Vista Casino and Resort.

MILLER AND GRANEY sit in second with 23.77.
