I just got back from a 7-day on the Shogun that was sponsored by Seeker rods. As one would expect for a 7-day to fish this time of year, we spent the bulk of our fishing time at Alijos Rocks, where there was good, steady action on 40- to 70-pound yellowfin to go with great signs of wahoo. The ‘hoo were a bit touchy, but there was some great fishing on the sardines fished on wire leader. After spending 2 1/2 days at Alijos, owner/operator Norm Kagawa headed for Cedros Island, where we got into the type of yellowtail action that only Cedros can deliver: e.g. 30-plus-pound yellows fighting over the surface irons. Next week’s edition of WON will have a run-down on the trip, and a Tackle Room column on what was working best; then there will be a full-length feature on the trip for the upcoming Long Range Preview Supplement to WON. In the meantime, here’s some pictures from the trip. 7-day on the Shogun that was sponsored by Seeker rods
