WON Catalina Island Jackpot

 dates are set!

(formally known as "Catalina White Seabass Jackpot"

AVALON The popular Western Outdoor News Yamaha Catalina Island Jackpot will return to the Isthmus at Two Harbors on Friday, June 7th through Sunday, June 9th.  We are very excited to get the 2019 Yamaha Catalina Jackpot underway and have made some changes to the event that we hope all will enjoy and choose to participate in at this year’s event.

Based on a 50 boat field, the “All New” Yamaha Catalina Jackpot will pay out $10,000 to the Top 3 Biggest Fish caught overall during the 2 days of fishing.  A team may weigh up to 3 big fish each day, and only 1 fish from each eligible species will be allowed.  We are working on some great sponsor prizes now for the overall Saturday big fish, if it does not hold out to win the event on Sunday.

Teams can sign up at now or with CASH ONLY at registration Friday June 7th between 5:00 - 8:00 P.M. on the patio at the Harbor Reef Saloon at Two Harbors.  After the Friday registration is complete, those teams that have registered and received their team number, will be allowed to leave at 4:00 A.M. Saturday morning.  Each team will come by the pier for a quick inspection before being released to start fishing. So, make sure to register early and receive a lower team number! Those teams checking in on Friday evening will be assigned team numbers based on when they signed up.

For those who cannot make it across the channel on Friday we will also have an early Saturday morning registration from 4:30 A.M. to 8:00 A.M. at the Two Harbors pier. Once your team has registered on Saturday, morning you’ll be free to go fishing.

The event will be based out of Isthmus Cove at Two Harbors on Catalina Island.  Tournament waters will be limited to the 2-mile zone surrounding Catalina only.

The entry fee will be $400 for a minimum of two but up to four anglers, and no more than four people can be aboard any boat entered in the tournament.

The format for the competition is the top 3 largest fish of any eligible species caught during both days are in the money. If a team is only in the basic $400 entry level without any options, those teams may weigh 1 fish of any 3 species for their largest fish each day. Teams that enter options may weigh 1 fish per day in each species optional they have entered. One of those fish would be the teams largest fish for that day. Teams that choose to weigh in on Saturday may also weigh fish in on Sunday. Those teams that choose NOT to weigh fish in on Saturday may only weigh in 1 fish per each species optional entered, including their biggest fish on Sunday. Top 3 Biggest Fish caught will receive pay outs. Largest fish will win $5000, the second largest fish will win $3000, and the third largest fish will win $2000 based on a 50-boat field. The eligible species in the tournament are white seabass, yellowtail and halibut. There will also be optional $100, $200 and $300 cash jackpots available for all 3 species.

Saturday's weigh-in will be from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. in the plaza at the base of the Two Harbors Pier.  All fish on Saturday must be presented by 7:00 P.M. to be weighed.  Sunday weigh-in will be held from 1:00 P.M. until 3:00 P.M.  All fish on Sunday must be presented by 3:00 P.M. to be weighed.  Once we have weighed in all teams, we will start our awards ceremony from 4:00 P.M. until roughly 5:00 P.M.
