Fish Hard and Party Harder in 2013
This past year we enjoyed one of our finest tournaments ever in terms of fishing, weather, money and prizes. And next year's Los Cabos Tuna Jackpot Tournament sponsored by Yamaha and many other companies and presented by Western Outdoor News will be better than ever, running Nov. 6-9, 2013. The check-in venue will be the same, but the Welcome Party (not just a captain's meeting) will be staged at the check-in site by adding chairs around the stage and check-in area. The video presentation will be at the cultural center with free gifts from Yo-Zuri at the door. The fiesta site will be moved from the scale site to where it originated at the marlin sculpture so the weigh-in site can remain intact.
"The reasons for those changes are due to the logistics of setting up the venues. It will be better for anglers, vendors and staff," said Pat McDonell, Director. "It's also good to mix things up, but staying with what works. We are also planning a video feed for the events so those not near the stage can see it, and for the weigh-in it will create a feeling of seeing the scale activity in a small stadium with the nearby elevated bars and patios. I am also hoping to use that video feed for live web feed for the shotgun starts, the weigh-ins and the awards." That's the goal. That, and to add sponsors to make these things happen.
As for the tournament rules, entry fees and optionals, there will be no changes."
