22nd Street Landing is located in the
22nd Street Marina in San Pedro.
Overnight trips on the Freedom are offered nightly in season, except when the tuna are on the outer banks and the boat offers 1 ½-day and 2-day runs. It also has a full schedule of 11/2-day trips to the Cortez Bank come September, October and into November.
Charter boats include the TruLine (which goes to San Diego for the summer). The Ultra (new at the landing in 2009) and Outrider do trips for smaller groups.
Local 3/4-day runs are offered on the Sea Angler, (which fishes sand dabs in the winter and early spring and summer targets come fall), while all day trips (6 a.m. ’til 5 p.m.) on the Pursuit usually fish Catalina, but will take advantage of any hot bites on the coast. It’s open bunkroom and Captain John Woodrum’s reputation for fishing late and posting good catches, makes it one of the most popular runs around. The Monte Carlo offers both half-day and twilight trips.
