TWO HARBORS The fall WON /Yamaha Catalina Jackpot is set for Oct.11-12 based at Two Harbors.
“This new event to the Yamaha Jackpot series offers anglers and families a chance to spend a weekend on fabulous Catalina Island,” said director Kit McNear. “Anglers can target yellowtail, calico bass, halibut and possibly tuna with cash, jackpots and great drawing prizes up for grabs.”
Cost is $85 an angler for teams of 2 to 6 people. Late entry two weeks prior and on-site is $100 an angler. Jackpots are $100, $200 and $300 per species with a 90 percent payback.
The payouts for first through third place will be $5,000, $3,000 and $1,000, plus optional jackpot money for those who enter them.
“That’s guaranteed payout for the biggest single fish of any of the species which for this event are yellowtail, dorado, halibut and any type of tuna. That means albacore, yellowfin, bluefin or bigeye.”
Weekend accommodations will be available on a first-come, first-served basis, and check in
sign-up will run from 7 a.m. until 10 a.m. on Saturday Oct. 11, with weigh-in on Sunday
Oct. 12 from 10 a.m. until noon followed by a lunch and awards presentation.
