Head to Lake Havasu, Arizona for Bass Pro Shops Inaugural Fishing Festival for the West May 4, 5 and 6. This exciting, event-filled extravaganza incorporates a fishing tournament, ride & drive demos, local pro appearances, kids’ activities and mobile exhibits into a lively weekend festival that promises to be fun for everyone. It all takes place at Windsor State Park, Lot #4, Lake Havasu May 4-6. Hands-on
interactive booths will give families the opportunity to touch, feel
and learn how to use the products and services on display by great
outdoor companies like Lowrance, TroKar hooks by Eagle Claw and others.
See the exciting #1 Bass Pro Shops/Tracker Boats Chevrolet driven by
NASCAR Sprint Cup driver Jamie McMurray. Other exhibits include an
inflatable casting pool. Bass Pro Shops local pro staff members from Bass Pro Shops Outdoor World stores in Rancho Cucamonga, CA, Mesa, Arizona and Las Vegas, NV will be in attendance. Free ‘Ride and Drive’ demos will be available Friday and Saturday, May 4 and 5 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday, May 6 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. You’ll be able to test drive the full line of Tracker Marine Boats — aluminum bass boats, Nitro Z’s, Sun Tracker Pontoons and Tahoe Run About boats. Bass Pro Shops knows that kids are the anglers and conservationists of the future so they’re also offering a free Kids Fishing Derby, Sunday, May 6 from 8 a.m. to 12 noon. The first 200 participants, ages 5-15 years, will receive souvenirs and prizes awarded for a variety of categories for different age groups. Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian and must bring their own equipment. An exciting feature of the Fishing Festival is the Inaugural Bass Pro Shops Lake Havasu Open fishing tournament. The tournament is set for May 5 and 6 at Windsor State Park, Lot #4 and is open to 2-person teams at a cost of $350 per boat. The Grand Prize awarded by raffle to one of the Top 10 finishers is a Nitro Z-7 powered by a Mercury 150 Optimax. Tournament payout will be over 100 percent of entry fees taken for this event. An angler appreciation dinner will be held Friday, May 4 hosted and sponsored by Anderson Toyota.
