TWO HARBORS, Catalina Island — It’s time to get your entries in for the 2012 WON/Yamaha Catalina Island White Seabass Championship slated Saturday and Sunday, May 19-20 at Two Harbors. As always, there will be free gifts at check-in, a casting contest, a Spiderwire knot tying contest, a free barbecue, two drawings and a chance to win the 2012 title. The are several ways to win money with three team optional jackpots at $100, $200 and $300 for each species of halibut, seabass and yellowtail with a 90 percent payback.First place overall will be $7,000 in cash and prizes, second is $1,500 and prizes, third place is $1,000 (Based on 75 teams) and added this year to give more teams a shot at winning are payouts of $400 and $300, respectively for fourth and fifth place. There is also a May 3 seminar and sale at Sav-On Tackle with food, gifts and drawings for tackle and a trip to Alaska at Kingfisher Lodge. Reps from Seeker, PIER and WON will be on the Seeker Stage. You can download the entry form and mail in the form with a check, or pay via credit card. All optionals must be paid by personal check until May 11 or bank check.
