Special to Western Outdoor NewsPublished: Aug 14, 2018

SANTA CRUZ — The Golden Gate Salmon Association (GGSA), a coalition of salmon advocates working to protect and restore California’s largest salmon runs, announced the Santa Cruz for Salmon Celebration and fundraising dinner, slated for Sept. 21 at the Elks Lodge in Santa Cruz.

The night will be featuring hors d’oeuvres, craft beer and wine, dinner, silent and open auctions, and the chance to compare fish stories, all while raising funds for salmon restoration.

This year’s dinner will be catered by one of Santa Cruz’s highly recommended catering companies, Barbara and Co. with all you can eat and drink festivities throughout the night.

“Join fellow fishermen and women along with other GGSA supporters in beautiful Santa Cruz to help raise money for a good cause that benefits all of us who enjoy salmon,” said GGSA director and dinner chairman Joe Donatiniof Johnson Hicks Marine.

Beverages are generously donated by Lost Coast Brewing Company and some of Northern California’s best local wineries.

All proceeds benefit GGSA’s work to restore Central Valley salmon, the Bay-Delta ecosystem, and communities that rely on salmon as a long-term, sustainable commercial, recreational and cultural resource. Salmon recovery is GGSA’s passion.

The night begins at 6 p.m. with a cocktail hour in the spacious Elks Lodge. Indulge in appetizers prepared by GGSA board member and Chef, Ted Wilson of Fine and Rare. Dinner will follow, as well as the opportunity to bid on all the exciting GGSA live auction items. It will be a night of celebrating good food, Santa Cruz ambiance, open bar and an auction featuring fishing charters, custom artwork, coastal experiences, and more. You don’t want to miss this!
