NORCAL CALENDAR: California Fish and Game Commission meetings slated

Western Outdoor NewsPublished: Mar 05, 2010

NORTH CAL CALENDAR OF EVENTS

A fundamental part of the process of changing fish and game laws in California, the California Fish and Game Commission meets regularly throughout the year. At these meetings, the Department of Fish and Game, as well as both commercial and sport private interests, are able to gain audience for potential changes in the way the state’s wildlife is managed.

Want to lobby for a new special late season big game hunt in your favorite area? This is where you can present your ideas. When the DFG has a special condition to manage for, like late season Aleutian goose hunts, the Commission is where they go for final approvals. The Commission meetings are public, and they invite everyone to attend and express their concerns and opinions on laws and resource management.

For more information on these and other important events, check out this week’s WON Calendar.

Western Outdoor News welcomes calendar items pertaining to hunting, fishing and upcoming events. Send them to P.O. Box 1536, Placerville, CA 95667 or to e-mail address wonnorth@pacbell.net.

Hunter Education Training classes are conducted on a monthly basis. Go online to www.dfg.ca.gov for a complete, statewide listing of hunter safety course contacts. Courses are now available online — check the web site address above.
