SAN FRANCISCO—Salmon scores built momentum through the week for the Golden Gate fleet, finally peaking on Friday and Saturday, but falling off, some say due to pressure, on Sunday.

“It got pretty tough on Sunday,” said Captain Jacky Douglas on the Wacky Jacky. “We had 8 fish. Saturday was great, and we had 17 fish for 10 anglers.” Robin Rogers of South Lake Tahoe had a great day with a limit that included a 20 pounder and a 17 pounder.

Other big fish were reported from Emeryville, the New Seeker taking Joe Daher of Willow Creek to a 32 pounder at Slide Ranch. On the New Rayann, Dale Cuschario of Concord caught a 28 pounder and Dan Soares of San Francisco caught a 25 pounder. Tony Gupirrge boarded the Hog Heaven to catch his 22 pounder.

“The biggest salmon of the week was caught on a private boat,” said Douglas. “Floyd Porteous of Vallejo launched Fish and Kids at Sausalito, and hooked his 41 pounder at Tennessee Cove.

“The salmon fishing was good all week, but really picked up on Friday,” said Frank Salazar at Emeryville Sportfishing. The New Seeker had 19 anglers who caught 25 salmon on Friday, and the New Salmon Queen had 19 salmon for 13 anglers. The Superfish had 15 for 12, and the Talisman 8 fish for five anglers. Then on Saturday, anglers caught salmon limits on the Talisman, Sundance, and New Salmon Queen, with 25 fish for 25 anglers on the New Seeker.
