I caught this catfish using a scented purple nightclawer in 5-feet of water. Weighed out at 30 pounds. It took about 10 minutes to land this fish.

My buddies, cousins and I where trolling for threshers just before dark off of Newport Beach the night of May 17 and caught this 140-pound Opah. She hit a purple Bait-O-Matic with a mackerel pinned under the skirt and ran. Fought hard for 30 minutes before we finally saw what she was, and my cousin Skeeter placed a perfect gaff shot.

OCspearos’ club President Jeremy Caulkins caught these two beautiful fish, a 40-pound yellowtail and a 45-pound white seabass, at San Clemente Island, while spearfishing.


OCspearos club member Kyle Dodder caught this massive 81-pound white seabass at an undisclosed SoCal kelp bed. He took the fish of a lifetime while spearfishing.
