My buddies, cousins and I where trolling for threshers just before dark off of Newport Beach the night of May 17 and caught this 140-pound Opah. She hit a purple Bait-O-Matic with a mackerel pinned under the skirt and ran. Fought hard for 30 minutes before we finally saw what she was, and my cousin Skeeter placed a perfect gaff shot.
