I am a lifelong resident of Fresno/Clovis and have fished Shaver Lake for several years. This is the biggest fish I have ever caught in this lake. 26½ inches and 8.3 pounds caught on Thursday, May 24th around 10:30 a.m. I used a large chrome blade with a red wedding ring and tipped with a nightcrawler. I had it on a downrigger and was about 35 feet down.

Bruce Tracy, president of the ZLF Bass Federation (B.A.S.S. Club), landed this 7-pound 13-ounce bass on Castaic’s Upper Lake. The fish was caught in 10 feet of water off of a main lake point using a hand poured jig head (poured by Tim Eggleston, also of the ZLF Bass Federation) and a single tailed grub trailer. The fish was caught at 6:15 p.m. on May 31.
