SOUTH CAL READER REPORTS Reader Report by Hunter Hough Hello, my name is Hunter Hough, I am from Palm Springs, CA and I work at Blue Water Tackle in nearby Temecula and Solana Beach. I caught this Striper at Lake Skinner tuesday Feb 2, 2010. The striper was caught over by ramp #2 on a huddleston swimbait. The fish was weighed by the lake staff at the marina docks at 17.5lbs, The striper was revived and released. I also caught a 22.4 lber over by the inlet during the great bite this past fall (that was in a November issue.) Reader Report by Cory Shore White Sea Bass official weight 61.5 lb. On a sea bass scouting run out of Dana Point. This monster took fresh frozen squid. Reader Report by John Badger Ran to San Pablo after school Friday. We fished for a few hrs into the night (EBB found 50F H20). Shane hooked up on the Bow rod and fought the bruser like a pro. Shane's dad Steve wanted to get into the action. Pulled the plug on the San Pablo thing after 2 hrs of flood. Picked up Steve at Benicia 9th street ramp. Flew up to the big cut stopping along the way to look for fish. After the massive ebb the fish were stuck in the deep, found 47.8F water. Looked up the Cut and really found nothing until we gut up to the end of the big cut.The tide was just starting on the flood. Fished a hump in between 2 deep holes and about 2 am Josh hooked another fat dino. It was nice to get Shane and Shawn's dad into the action. They dont get much daddy time. Comment of the night was from Shane " I Get to fish with my Poppy." Times are tough for allot of folks and If I can be the catalist to some good old fashioned daddy time then great. Im glad Steve could make it . He got a chance to see how much these kids dig this stuff . Maybe just maybe he to can forget about the bad and relax for a few hours. Good night had by all. Fishing with my father Tom Mestmaker Sr., we had an excellent day with a few bass ranging between 3 and 7lbs. But this beauty is what made the day. My personal best, a 16.5lb largemouth caught on a jig off Piney Point. Lake continues to produce the large ones!! Reader Report by Jeff Verharst 33 lb aqueduct PIG caught on sexy perch KPN in Bakersfield on 1-24-2010. There was a 4/0 hook coming out of the belly that some one hooked before and worked its way out. The bite was very slow. We fished from 10 pm sat to 4.30 sun with only 2 stripers and 1 largemouth that Gary got, and a 3-lb that my son Andrew. Thanks KPN
