My son, Garrett, and I just got back from a couple of days fishing out of Van Wormer's Villas in Los Barriles. Fishing on Sunday, July 14, 2019 was tough due to less than ideal bait. Monday, the fishing gods smiled on us. We got nice healthy mullet. Our panga skipper, Juan Carlos, took us to one of his rooster hunting grounds. We were the only boat there and within ten minutes I was hooked up. We went 4 of 6. I caught a 30 and 50+ pounder. My son landed two huge Gallos. Juan Carlos estimated them at 70 and 80+ pounds. The head of my son's rooster covers his entire torso!
