Yellows chew at Catalina!

Western Outdoor NewsPublished: May 23, 2018

SAN PEDRO — The WON Catalina White Seabass Jackpot (June 9-10) is coming up quickly, so we’re carefully watching the signs at the island. We like what we see. This week, the yellows chewed at Catalina.

The Pursuit out of 22nd Street Landing Sportfishing made a catch of 50 on Sunday. The Ultra, in five trips, notched 133. And most exciting of all, on the Options angler Scott Butchert landed a beautiful 44-pound mossback. Check out his photo elsewhere in this issue. There’s reason to be excited. The three largest fish (white seabass, yellowtail and halibut) will split a guaranteed $10,000 purse.
